We traveled to New York City this weekend with the kids and my parents to see WICKED on Broadway. With heavy hearts, we appreciated the skyline, and said silent prayers at St. Patrick's Cathedral. We marveled over the Statue of Liberty, and taught our children how lucky they really are while visiting Ellis Island. We ate in fabulous restaurants, and walked famous streets. Most importantly, we made memories that will last a lifetime.

Fall is here! The kids had a great time playing in the leaves this afternoon while Mike made gigantic piles for them to jump into. Although I hate to see summer go, there is just something about this season that makes me sentimental. These are great memories.

I photographed this family at the most beautiful park in Wellesley. There were gorgeous gardens everywhere that provided so many perfect photo opportunities. Of course it always helps when you have adorable little girls who giggle throughout the entire session.

A Picture perfect evening tonight on Bass River. This DY senior has grown up working with his family on the River. It was an ideal evening for his senior portrait and only appropriate that we take it on his family boat. I truly enjoyed taking this portrait, what a great kid!

The deadline has been set and the phone is ringing off the hook. The seniors are in need of their yearbook portraits and they need them yesterday!
I love this time of year, love meeting all these kids about to embark on a new adventure. So much life ahead of them! It's really great to meet them and I have to say, for the most part, they have been so funny, polite and just good kids. Hat's off and best wishes!

I always love to travel to Provincetown for a wedding. This is the most recent one, with the preparation at this adorable little place called the Red Inn. Stunning views! The reception was held right in the middle of Commercial Street , always a good time. This couple had the most perfect day and such fun family and friends. Thank you both for including me in your day!

Tonight was a dream! A gorgeous September sunset with such lovely little girls made it a perfect night for me. These sisters were so patient and tolerated each and every one of my poses. They clearly love each other too, which makes my job so easy. Thanks girls!

I photographed the wedding of this sweet couple the weekend that Hanna came rolling across the East coast. I have done so many weddings in inclement weather with wind, rain and power outages! It certainly makes for an interesting day! Luckily, my brides and grooms have all been wonderful and just roll with the situation. I guess there is no other option. Right?

Dog Days of Summer...

...are behind us now. However, Mike and I took advantage of the beautiful day on Sunday and brought the kids and dogs to our favorite beach to enjoy the last days of the season.
They played hard and the pup was so exhausted she fell asleep on this boulder while sitting with Avery. Once Avery moved, she stayed and slept for over 45 minutes on that big rock! Crazy puppy!
I just love where we live. Until January! :)

This was a very busy crowd! Twin boys, their five year old brother and a little munchkin in a pink dress. We were all over this beach tonight. They dressed all in pink, (which I love) and the night sky agreed. The setting sun was a fantastic fuchsia!

Ozzie

Tek watching Ozzie out the front door.
Last night, our dog Tek was not himself. He was pacing, whining and complaining in his own dog ways. He wouldn't rest, every so often crying at the door. Very unlike himself.
When the Olympics were over at midnight we let him out one last time before retiring for the night. He stood on the grass and whimpered. When I stepped outside the door I noticed he had found a small baby bird that had fallen from a nest we have been watching for weeks.
Needless to say the circus continued for an hour after. (This consisted of me running nervously around the backyard with dishtowels in my nightgown, in the rain, trying to carefully protect this animal for the night) Without to many crazy, boring details, I will say we have now adopted this little bird and named him Ozzie.
I think this is how great stories and children's books are born. This gentle giant of a dog is so curious and kind towards this little creature. Adorable!
No worries animal people, I have called the wildlife authorities and all is well. Ozzie's mom continually feeds him and squawks when we are near.
I have been told that in the next few days he will continue to grow and learn to fly. We look forward to watching him find his freedom!

Another stormy night

Well, this one was touch and go all day long. We thought it was rained out this morning then out came the sun! Right before our session, the black clouds rolled in again. What a crazy August it has been. Either way, I was able to take enough pictures to call in a success. I am ready for a full stretch of sunshine!

Tonight I had the privilege of meeting a wonderful family who summer here on the Cape. All three children are a part of the sailing club in Yarmouth so it was fitting that I photographed them among a harbor of boats. It's very nice to see such happy kids who know how to really belly laugh and enjoy each other. Thank you Kelly family for a beautiful evening.

Wow, we barely got this session done! It was incredibly dark and stormy for the start of this portrait and began to rain. After waiting it out in the car, we tried a second time. The night became quite beautiful and lighting was perfect. I am happy to have had the chance to do these pictures because most of this family came from the Boston area. Someone was certainly on our side this evening.

One of my best friends from childhood was married tonight in Dennis. Although the wedding was to be held on Howes Street beach, mother nature had other plans. Instead, the ceremony was held at the Dennis Inn and was very beautiful. Anne and Garen now live in Minnesota and we don't see each other nearly enough! I was happy to be a part of their special day. Congratulations to you both! We love you!!
